Creating an account

First thing you need to do after having installed the app is to create an Accessy-account. This is done directly through the app. Simply fill out your first name, last name and phone number and then click "Next". Don't forget to read and accept the "Terms & Conditions".

On the next page, you'll get an activation code by text to your phone. This is a one-time code. Some phones will allow you to automatically paste the code from the text to Accessy. If not, simply enter the code "Manually" and then hit "Next".

Next you need to choose a 6-digit PIN-code. This PIN-code will be used to login the app as a security measure. The app will prompt for your PIN-code with regular intervals.

Hence, remembering the PIN-code is essential.

Enter your chosen PIN-code in both fields and then hit "Next".

Your mobile phone will then ask you if you wish to activate biometrics (for instance finger-print och Face-ID). This will make it easier to unlock the app.

If you don't want to decide here and now, you can always enable biometrics at a later point. You'll then find it under "Settings".

On the next page you'll be presented with your personal recovery code.

The recovery code will let you recover your Accessy-account again in case you should forget your PIN-code or even lose your phone.

To save the recovery code, hit "Copy key" and then paste it somewhere where you feel it is safely stored ("long press" will give you the option to paste it into a document, for instance).

You also have the option of saving your recovery code to iCloud (on iPhones) or Google Drive (Android).

Treat your recovery code as a valuable as it will give full control of your Accessy-account, including access and memberships that you have been granted.

Just to repeat: if you in the future need to recover your account, for example if you've lost your PIN-kod or change mobile phone, you will need your recovery code.

After you've copied your recovery code, you are set to start using Accessy.

The next step for you should be to acquire the access you need. This will require you to be:

  1. a member of an organization
  2. apply for access or better yet: be granted access by an organization administrator

You can read more about this in the article "How do I get access?".
